One week of teaching rounds down, two weeks to go! Actually the first week went pretty quickly due to cool supervising teachers and teaching something i actually have an interest in. This week i have taught 10 Things i Hate About you, which i later get to compare to Napoleon Dynamite which is pretty cool.
In my other class i taught conventions of genre and its transition over time, where i got to compare a scene from Dirty Harry to a scene from Fargo (my fave ever movie), so that was pretty cool. Now i am doing story boarding and later a production for a short film using still photos. Next week i am teaching Aliens.

So i am glad that i am teaching film narrative and genre, as opposed to computer editing and animation, which i have no idea about.

I have been staying at my sisters this week and thus have not had a lot of sleep, she insists on sleeping with the tv on and talking at midnight. I would sleep downstairs on the fouton (sp?) but it is too damn cold, and of course has no electric blanket.

I have a shitty uni timetable this semester:

monday 11-1
tuesday 2-5
wednesday 2-5
thursday 11- 4.15

still i should be happy that i do not have to travel on pb doing peak hour in the morning (ala london bombings), although i am sure that they will chnge their m.o here and do it at peak hour at night, around 5ish so i will die. That's just typical. The world is freaking me out.

Ellie and Belinda, tell me your timetables so we can arrange to meet up, i am missing the both of you and feel rather friendless.

Hey Lauren, I'm feeling a bit friendless too at the moment. Bah at holidays.
My timetable is Monday 10-3:30 and Wednesday 10-3:30. Gah at Mondays but y'know...
Sorry I couldn't make it down this holidays. I'd wanted to come either this weekend or last, but I'd wanted to get my old car serviced first, and I really don't trust the replacement yet. And yeah I know I could break down anywhere but I'd prefer to do so in Melbourne than on the road to Terang, y'know? Or worse, on the road home from Terang at night. Agh. (I know, I have country-phobia. It comes from living my entire life, except for a brief period between the ages of 2 1/2 and 3, in the suburbs)

It's okay Ellie, just so you know you are welcome to come down at any time. Maybe we can catch up on a monday or wednesday afternoon every so often, i don't know, i guess it depends on your work schedule.

I'm sorry to hear about your car, there really are some wankers in this world.

And the country is not the scary place you think it is, i do not live in the middle of nowhere, and there is less chance of a terrorist attack.
